# LiDAR

### **LiDAR** (LDR/RXP/SDC/SDCX)

LiDAR files contain LiDAR ranging measurements, and when fused with a trajectory, form a geospatial pointcloud.

* Raw LiDAR files are uploaded to the project at the same time the PLP is opened.

If you have a **RANGER** series scanner the following steps needs to be taken to resolve MTA ambiguities.

Step 1: Tools > Convert Riegl RXP to SDCX (MTA Resolution)... > Navigate to and select acquired RXP file(s) > Open

* Specify the number of CPU cores to use during processing and configure the other parameters (default values recommended)
* Click "OK" to begin RXP to SDCX conversion
* SDCX files are written to the same folder as the RXP files

![](/files/-M_74am0dKcNqTbI6uoF)

Step 2: After the conversion has finished, File > Save Project, then File > Quit

Step 3: Launch SpatialExplorer in Offline Mode, and open up the same PLP again.

* SpatialExplorer will now recognize and open the MTA resolved SDCX files
