# RIEGL LiDAR Sensor Options

RIEGL LiDAR sensors have several command options that are available when connected to rover in real-time. This option is NOT available in Work Offline mode. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of your sensor name under the Sensors Controller window. This will display a menu with several options.

## Power Off RIEGL LiDAR Sensor

All RIEGL LiDAR sensors should be properly shut down from within SpatialExplorer. It is highly recommended to initiate the shutdown sequence in SpatialExplorer before manually attempting to power down via the Sensor button on rover. The option to power off a RIEGL LiDAR sensor is only available when connected to rover in real-time. This option is NOT available in Work Offline mode.

To properly power off a RIEGL LiDAR sensor in SpatialExplorer, click the drop-down arrow to the right of your sensor name. Click on the “Execute” button to the right of the “PowerOff” option. You will be prompted for confirmation. Selecting “Yes” will send a shutdown command to the RIEGL LiDAR sensor. The shutdown command usually takes about a minute to complete. This will only shut down the RIEGL LiDAR sensor; it will not shutdown rover. To power off rover, you must use the “Shutdown Rover” command. Refer to [Commands](/spatialexplorer/acquisition/user-interface/commands.md) for more information.
