# Manually Split Trajectory

Alternatively, SpatialExplorer allows you to manually split the trajectory at various intervals of your choosing. You can select the Measurements option and select points along the trajectory then use those points to create an interval.

To manually split the trajectory, click on the “Measurements” tab in the Project window. Click the Position tab and pick the initial position of a point on your trajectory on the active map layer. This will create an entry in the Measurements window. You can add multiple points into the Measurements window along your trajectory.

You must now import the measured positions from the trajectory to the Intervals window. Click on the “Intervals” tab in the Project window. Click the “Eyedrop” tool within the “Intervals” sidebar to read the intervals from measurements on the trajectory.

You will need to specify a name for the list of intervals you have chosen. Enter your chosen interval name in the dialog window when prompted and click the “OK” radio button. This will create a set of custom intervals that you can now use when exporting the project to LAS.
